Mike Mwaniki

Co-Founder, Coach and Counsellor

I'm an Integrative Counsellor and Coach (BACP), working with individuals and couples to support greater clarity, confidence, and growth—both personally and professionally. I offer a calm, non-judgemental space where clients can explore what’s really going on beneath the surface. My approach is empathetic, compassionate, and collaborative, and is always tailored to each person’s unique story and strengths. I believe that meaningful change starts with deeper self-awareness, and I’m here to walk alongside my clients as they build the tools and resilience needed to move forward with purpose.

My integrative approach draws from a range of counselling models, including Person-Centred, Psychodynamic, CBT, Transactional Analysis, Gestalt, Solution-Focused, Existential, and Christian therapy. This flexible framework allows me to tailor support in a way that honours each client’s unique story, values, and needs.

Having trained to integrate both counselling and coaching, I offer a distinct approach that combines deep exploration with forward-focused growth. This means that while we take the time to understand the underlying drivers of your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours (through counselling), we also work towards creating clear goals, practical strategies, and lasting change (through coaching).

This integrated dynamic can be especially helpful when navigating challenges such as workplace stress or burnout, relationship difficulties, parenting pressures, or struggles with self-confidence and self-worth. Whether you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or simply looking to grow, our work together provides a space to both reflect and move forward with greater clarity and resilience.

One of my areas of specialism is working with men—supporting them to explore identity, navigate the multiple roles they hold both professionally and personally, and manage the pressures they often place on themselves. I provide a safe, non-judgemental space where men can reflect, reset, and develop healthier ways of coping with stress, expectations, and change.

I also enjoy working alongside Maryane in delivering Couple Workshops and Events. As a Prepare-Enrich Relationship Coach, Facilitator and Trainer, alongside Maryane, I have supported over 500 pre-marital couples.

Our practical tools and techniques help you foster a healthy relationship with yourself and others.

My areas of specialism:

In addition to working across a broad range of challenges and difficulties such as anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, stress etc., I also specialise in the areas below.

  1. Relationships and Family: Supporting individuals and couples to navigate challenges, improve communication, and strengthen connection within family and intimate relationships. This includes helping clients resolve conflict, manage transitions, and build healthier, more fulfilling bonds.

  2. Work and Professional Identity: Helping clients explore their career paths, manage workplace stress, and develop confidence in their professional roles. Support includes navigating role changes, improving work-life balance, and building resilience under pressure.

  3. Christianity and Faith: Integrating clients’ spiritual beliefs into therapy to provide a compassionate space for exploring questions of faith, values, and meaning. This specialism supports those seeking to align their personal growth with their Christian worldview.

  4. Male Identity and Manhood: Working specifically with men to explore the complexities of identity, societal expectations, and the multiple roles they hold. Supporting men in managing stress, building self-confidence, and developing a healthy understanding of manhood in both personal and professional contexts.
